Sheriff Coppinger’s Youth Leadership Academy
This free, seven-week program empowers at-risk youth ages 8-14 with the skills and confidence to become positive leaders in their communities. With two age groups—Junior (8-10) and Senior (11-14)—our fun-filled curriculum focuses on teamwork, leadership, and personal growth through games, team-building, and educational activities like CPR, Internet Safety, Bullying Prevention, and Drug Awareness. Kids will also enjoy thrilling activities like laser tag, trampolines, bowling, a whale watch and other great outings!
The YLA is open to any child from Essex County but spots fill up quickly! Children may only attend one week of camp. Each community is assigned a specific week and kids from those communities will be given priority. Keep in mind that submitting this form does not guarantee a spot. Free bus transportation is provided each week.
